What causes back pain?
Back pain is a common symptom, but it is still not fully understood. Experts believe that the cause may be difficult, immeasurable, and even impossible to diagnose.
This is why back pain is also called "mechanical" or non-specific, as the obvious cause of back pain is unknown. However, back pain may originate from the joints, bones, or soft tissues in and around the spine. How do you know you are suffering from back pain? According to the UK National Health Service health website, here's how to determine if you have back pain:
Back pain tends to get better or worse depending on your posture. For example, you may feel better when sitting or lying down.
Any movement causes severe pain, but it is recommended that you do not move your lower back at all as this may make the situation worse.
Lower back pain can come on suddenly or gradually.
Pain can be caused by poor posture or lifting things awkwardly, but it often occurs for no apparent reason.
Lower back pain can also be caused by minor injuries such as sprains and strains or by stress and fatigue, but the pain improves within a few weeks.
The following other conditions can also cause lower back pain:
1. Herniated disc. This can cause lower back pain and numbness, tingling and weakness in other parts of the body.
2. Sciatica is inflammation of the nerve that runs from the lower back to the foot and can cause pain, numbness, tingling and weakness in the lower back, buttocks, legs and feet.
3. Ankylosing spondylitis is swelling of the spinal joints, causing pain and stiffness that is usually worse in the morning and gets better with movement.
4. Spondylolisthesis occurs when a bone becomes misaligned and can cause lower back pain and stiffness, as well as numbness and tingling.
Do you think lack of marital rights can also lead to back pain?
